Annually 2 400 men die from prostate cancer in Sweden, a far too high number according to the patient organization National Prostate Cancer Association.
This week the association distributes a polemic folder ”The prostate cancer death rate curve must be broken”.
The National Prostate Cancer Association advocates annual screening programs for all men i Sweden who have attained the age of 45 in order to get a so called base line value. But since the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is against screenings, the National Prostate Cancer Association requests the county councils to inform and inspire all 45 year old men to test their PSA levels.
The message in the pamphlet is the same as professor Per-Anders Abrahamsson presents in his newly published book Prostatacancer.
